The Federal Network Agency has published the award decisions for tenders for onshore wind turbines and solar installations on buildings and noise barriers for the bidding date of February 1, 2026. "The tender for onshore wind turbines was heavily oversubscribed, as in the previous bidding round. The awarded prices fell significantly again," said Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency. "For the tender for rooftop solar installations, the submitted bid volume was below the tendered volume, yet the awarded prices remained stable." With a tendered volume of 3,445 megawatts (MW), 924 bids totaling 7,858 MW were submitted, roughly at the level of the previous bidding round. The tender was therefore heavily oversubscribed. 439 bids totaling 3,445 MW were awarded.

Beyond the near-term supply chaos and conflicting signals about the Middle East war,…

Late last year, when India and Oman officially signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), there was no war with Iran cutting off the Strait of Hormuz, and the advanced timing of this now is turning out to be more fortuitous than initially expected. The agreement came into effect on June 1st, just in time to give India access to Oman’s trade routes as an alternative to Hormuz. The pact, ratified by the Omani Sultan in February this year, will see Oman eliminate customs duties on 98% of its tariff lines, giving immediate…
